Biography
Keith-Austin Scarfo, DO, MS, is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine and is an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at The Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University. Dr. Scarfo is Co-Director of the Norman Prince Spine Institute and has a special interest in spinal cord stimulation. Prior to joining the Norman Prince Spine Institute at Rhode Island Hospital in 2014, he was the medical director of the Pain Management Center, through the department of anesthesiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Plymouth in Massachusetts.
Dr. Scarfo earned his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College – Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He completed a fellowship in pain medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
