Biography

Background

Andy Tekriwal MD PhD, earned his undergraduate degree with Honors in Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania. He then went on to receive his MD/PhD from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he pursued in vivo electrophysiology studies in animal model paradigms as well as in several clinical settings.

He chose Brown primarily because of the camaraderie amongst the resident group as well as the opportunity to progress his existing research in functional neurosurgery under the guidance of systems neuroscientists and leaders in the field like Dr. Wael Asaad, MD PhD.

When not in the hospital, Andy enjoys exploring running trails, foraging for wild foods, and climbing with his growing family.
