Pituitary Tumor

Condition

Pituitary tumor (or pituitary adenoma) is most often a benign tumor that develops in the pituitary glands. 30% of these tumors secrete active hormones which may cause infertility, altered body shape or high blood pressure. Other types of tumors don’t secrete hormones, usually affect the elderly and are accompanied by visual loss.

The Pituitary Tumor Center specializes in the treatment of all types of pituitary tumors, including Cushing’s disease. Our diverse team of specialists perform standard transsphenoidal surgeries (surgery through the nose), endoscopic surgical approaches, hormonal antagonist therapy, and in rare cases, radiation treatment as an alternative to surgery.
